Query capability for TES Level 3 standard products

The Level 3 standard data products are composed of L3 HDF-EOS grid data. L3 standard browse products are Level 3 HDF-EOS files containing global maps with associated L2 geo-location "dot" plots. "Daily" standard products cover a Global Survey. "Monthly" standard products cover all Global Surveys starting within a calendar month.

Below each Level 3 image is a link to access the same data in Google Earth format. The global plot includes metadata showing the (averaged) measurements for a given grid sector and overlays the original L3 image for reference.

Special Observations

Observations are sometimes scheduled on non-global survey days. In general these are measurements made for validation purposes or with highly focused science objectives. These non-global survey measurements are referred to as "special observations". The two primary special observation types are: Step and Stare (continuous along-track nadir views, ~50 degrees of latitude and Transects (Hi density along-track, near nadir views).

Monthly Averaged Nadir Global Surveys

This page provides access to the TES monthly averaged Browse imagery for the following species (O3, CO, H2O, HDO, CH4 & TATM). The data is provided in a grouped by species/pressure level or by month (species or pressure level distinct). The output is in a 2 degree latitude x 4 degree longitude Aura L3 grid.

[DISCLAIMER] Global or regional images displayed here are generated from TES Level 2 data for the purpose of data browsing. Interpolations or averaging was used to calculate values at uniform grids to form the images. Caution is needed when interpreting features displayed in these images and are probably not suitable for quantitative scientific analysis. For further information, please contact Ming Luo.
