MOHAVE & Houston 2009 campaign support - 10.01.2009
Aura TES is providing transect special observations in October 2009 to support MOHAVE 2009. MOHAVE 2009 (The Measurements Of Humidity in the Atmosphere and Validation Experiments) is a water vapor inter-comparison campaign at the JPL-Table Mountain Facility (TMF).
The purpose of the experiment is to inter-compare raman lidars with balloon, microwave, and
satellite measurements. TES will provide water vapor profiles to provide regional context to the
MOHAVE measurements, and the MOHAVE measurements help validate TES water vapor.
The campaign information is available at the MOHAVE web link.
For Houston 2009, TES provided stare special observations for comparison with ozonesondes
launched from Rice University, Houston, Texas, to evaluate TES ozone retrievals in a polluted
atmosphere.
