Annmarie Eldering
Science Team
Principal Investigator
Dr. Annmarie Eldering is the Deputy Manager of the Earth Atmospheric Science Section in JPL's Science Division.
Annmarie received her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Science from Caltech in 1994 and has been at JPL since 1999, most recently in the TES group, and originally in the AIRS group. She provides dynamic technical leadership to both teams for the extraction of information about clouds and aerosols in the Earth's atmosphere. She is the Principal Investigator or a co-Investigator on a number of competitively awarded research tasks and a member of the AURA Project (Goddard SFC) Clouds & Aerosols Working Group. She lead the mission concept development for SH2OUT, on the measurement of profiles of water vapor isotopic ratios, which was submitted as a response to the NRC decadal study RFI, and was selected by ESTD to lead a cross-divisional study on the formulation of the Blue Horizon atmospheric chemistry program.
Furthermore, Annmarie is adjunct professor at UCLA, where she teaches, and supervises students and postdocs. She maintains research collaborations with the UCLA faculty as well as the atmospheric modeling community at NCAR. Prior to joining JPL Annmarie was an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa.
