Kevin Bowman
Science Team
L1B, L2 Inversion, L4 Data Assimilation Algorithms

Dr. Kevin W. Bowman is a senior member of the technical staff and a team member of the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES). His research interests are centered on the application of advanced non-linear optimal estimation techniques, satellite data analysis, and assimilation in conjunction with state-of-the-art CTMs to assess the impact of changes in anthropogenic and natural sources of ozone precursors on the global distribution and evolution of tropospheric ozone, which is a trace gas that plays a key role in both air quality and climate. In addition, Dr. Bowman is actively involved in the conception and development of observation system simulation experiments to formally link science requirements to satellite measurement requirements and capabilities as well as the use of satellite observations to observationally "couple" regional and global CTMs.
