Level 2 and Level 3
Science Browsing Capability
Query TES Level 3 standard products
The Level 3 standard data products are composed of L3 HDF-EOS grid data. L3 standard browse products are Level 3 HDF-EOS files containing global maps with associated L2 geo-location "dot" plots. "Daily" standard products cover a Global Survey. "Monthly" standard products cover all Global Surveys within a calendar month.
Below each Level 3 image is a link to view that same data in Google Earth format. The global plot includes metadata showing the (averaged) measurements for a given grid sector and overlays the original L3 image for reference.
TES Science Browsing Plots
TES observations of global distributions of tropospheric ozone and carbon monoxide (CO) since September 2004 are illustrated in two forms here: monthly mean images of Level 3 global species distributions at lower, middle and upper levels in the troposphere, and time trends of averaged Level 2 vertical tropospheric profiles in the defined regions of the world. These images provide a quick-look of TES data by illustrating their spatial and temporal variability. They provide a wealth of information to aid science investigations on the tropospheric chemistry, dynamics, and the sources of tropospheric pollutants.
See the Special Observations page for Level 2 species curtain images and profile plots acquired in small portions of an Aura orbit, which provide information for investigations of spatial variability in a smaller region.
| Monthly Averages |

| This page provides access to the TES monthly averaged browse imagery for the following nadir species: AtmT, H2O, HDO, O3, CO, CH4. The images are grouped by two ways: all the monthlies per species / per pressure, and all the species/pressures per month. |
| Time Trends |

| This page provides access to the pressure vs time curtain plots for TES species in a given region via a clickable world map. Each profile on a curtain plot is the average of the profiles from either a Global Survey (< 26 hrs) or a Special Observation (minutes) over the defined geolocation area. Sample footprint plots for eight consecutive Global Surveys in the region are provided. |
[DISCLAIMER] Global or regional images displayed here are generated from TES Level 2 data for the purpose of data browsing. Interpolations or averaging was used to calculate values at uniform grids to form the images. Caution is needed when interpreting features displayed in these images and are probably not suitable for quantitative scientific analysis. For further information, please contact Ming Luo.
